the Build – Final Slideshow

It seems like months and months ago that we started the building project to extend our living space. Thinking about it, it was months and months ago !!! It started back in May 2008 and was estimated to take 6-8 weeks but between contractor and suppliers it took 6 months. Probably should have taken about 12 weeks but everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Just to give you an idea of what we had to endure: the brick layer getting the dimensions wrong, water tank bursting, boiler having to be moved twice, no water or heating for over a week, bi-fold doors sinking, underfloor heating not working, flooring lifting and wrong/damaged furniture delivered, I could go on but I’m just depressing myself all over again.

I could have screamed or cried or thumped something every time someone said “it will be worth it in the end”. There are just a couple of bits left to finish and the location of the missing dining room chairs but other than that its pretty much done now. I am happy with how it turned out but don’t think it was worth the stress, discomfort and expense (best not mention the budget that quadrupled).

My absolute favourite part of it all is the utility room with the huge American washer & dryer :D which is a good thing as my wanting these was what started the whole thing off !

West Ham United FC – Boleyn Ground

West Ham United vs Stoke City

The boys and I enjoyed a corporate hospitality box with my friend Lesley and some of her colleagues today at Upton Park.

We enjoyed a tastey lunch and had a great view (almost on the half way line)

Its almost thirty years since I’d seen a game there but never was it in such style :D  It was absolutely freezing cold but the 2-1 win was worth it and I got to see my my fave player doing his stuff :)

Thanks Lesley for an awesome day – Up the Hammers !!

Christmas Day

We had a lovely relaxed morning, Santa’s biggest helper cooked a yummy breakfast

Then the boys got down to the serious business of opening their presents – just 33 of them so it didn’t take too long !

Nanny Carole came for dinner – which was rather yummy if I do say so myself

Christmas evening I started coming down with a cold and Boxing Day just felt terrible but still managed to cook another turkey dinner for 10 ! Sadly no photos as I really wasn’t with it yesterday.
