Last week I flew to Italy to photograph Meredith and Dale, a fabulous couple full of love and laughter. This was a pre wedding photo shoot with a difference, more of a Tuscan love story as we wandered the streets of Florence. Legend has it that if you and your loved one attach a padlock to any surface of the famous bridge and then throw away the key into the Arno River below, your love will last forever. Today, there is a hefty fine to all who are caught locking or attaching anything to the Ponte Vecchio which is patrolled by local police officers. These days, lovers simply come to the famous bridge and simply touch the remaining padlocks that have not been removed. Luck has kept them there, locked to the bridge, perhaps some luck will rub off on the hopeful couple as well.
For couples who book their wedding photography with me I offer complete wedding photography packages which include an engagement or pre wedding shoot as standard. Pre wedding photo shoots are designed to be very relaxed and informal, you can choose to use your shoot either purely as a short “pre-wedding photography rehearsal” at your wedding venue, which will make you feel much more at ease in front of the camera, or you can choose a longer pre wedding shoot for anything up to a half day for some really stunning special photos at a location of your choice. I love doing these shoots almost as much as I love shooting weddings. Unlike the wedding day we don’t have to worry about time schedules, guests or getting the dress dirty and we can do the shoot pretty much anywhere we like.
All of the images from the pre wedding shoot will be uploaded to your own private section of the website for you to view and select your free prints as well as purchase any additional items from a range products including the hugely popular signing print for your wedding day.
